INDIA—Making indigenous ministries dependent on foreign support is not what AIM International does.  In fact, we strive to see them develop plans that eventually lead to vital, self-supporting ministries.

Just as one seed planted in the ground yields a plant with many seeds, Charisma Outreach Mission is reaping a harvest of souls for God’s kingdom!

This ministry, located in Northeast India, is a wonderful example of how this is done . . .

“Many got saved by accepting Jesus,” writes the leader of Charisma Outreach Mission. “Many leaders came up for the gospel work through evangelism and church planting. Nine brothers from one tribe came forward to work with us, preaching and planting churches.”

Churches were recently planted in six villages among members of the Reang tribe, and seven people were baptized.

Another Charisma leader went on a mission trip where the “Mishing Tribe” live and ministered to them for several days. “We want to work among this tribe because they are backward spiritually and educationally,” he notes.

Education is a big part of what Charisma Outreach Mission is doing to reach the lost in India. In fact, they
are presently running a school with 59 students!

“We are earnestly praying to have a new concrete building for our school and a hostel – or dormitory – to house 100 students plus a few teachers,” writes Brother Caleb. Even now, ministry workers and other supporters are collecting sand and gravel from the river bottom to use in construction of the hostel when the needed funds are raised.

“It is a great joy to serve these beautiful children,” Brother Caleb says about the students, many of whom come from Buddhist, Hindu and tribal homes.

Church leaders and members stand in front of Charisma Outreach Mission’s school.

But the ministry is doing more than evangelism and educating local children . . .

Believers throughout the state came together to donate 22 acres of land for a very special purpose: a rubber tree plantation.

And now, 2500 rubber trees have been planted, eventually yielding a harvest that will provide long term support for those laboring for the kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land’ (Deuteronomy 15:11).”

Charisma Outreach Mission is busy doing “all that [God has] commanded [them]” (Matthew 28:20) . . . bringing the Good News to the lost, raising disciples, educating the children, and working to raise their own support.

Please join us in praying for these precious Christians in India, that our Lord will meet every need they have, including building a school and dormitory for the poor children attending their school.  To find out more about this project or others, please contact AIM International using the information below.
